'Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel' Jake Gyllenhaal in talks to interpret Mysterio

According to 'The Hollywood Reporter' Jake Gyllenhaal is in talk to play Mysterio in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.

July 5, will open the phase 4 after the events of Avengers 4, and this sequel is taking form

Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to play the Marvel villain "Mysterio" in the sequel of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The creators of our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko introduced Mysterio in the comics in 1964, in The Amazing Spider-Man #13. A special effects expert, Quentin Breck used his talents to create elaborate illusions to commit crimes and to fight Spider-Man. Quentin picked Spider-Man as his "villain" because, according him, Spider-Man is relatively weak.

Tom Holland is going to be under the skin of Peter Parker, and recently we saw him in Avengers: Infinity War. Jon Watts, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, will return as the director of this sequel, under the direction of Jon, Spider-Man: Homecoming made $880 million worldwide. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, to of the writers behind of the first movie, will be back as well.

Gyllenhaal has an interesting history with Spider-Man. Original Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire injured his back while shooting Seabiscuit in between Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Gyllenhaal was briefly considered to take over the role if Maguire could not resume his duties. Maguire was able to return to work, and the filmmakers put a joke about Spider-Man hurting his back into the sequel.

Also rumors said that Jake Gyllenhaal was considered to replace Ben Affleck as Batman in the DCEU, but this was fake.

Michael Keaton will return as The Vulture in the Sequel

The Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel will start shooting next month and it looks a like that this seuqel is going to bring back a character of Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Michael Keaton will be back like Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture
As Variety informs, Toomes will be a key of this new adventure. The last time we saw him, was in jail, at the end of the film, when he enters a prisioner (Scorpion) asks him about the identity of Spider-Man, something he claims to be unware altought we all know he knows it. This act show that Toomes has change and wants to honor the debt he owes to Parker for saving his life and his daughter life.
Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man will sets on July 5, 2019 and promises a lot.
