James Gunn has been hired by DC to write the script of Suicide Squad 2

From Marvel, to DC. From the Guardians of the galaxy, to the suicide Squadron. James Gunn, director of the two Guardians of the Galaxy movies that was fired by Disney, has gone to the other side and is in negotiations to write the screenplay for Suicide Squad, in addition to directing the film.

Suicide Squad was a failure for the critic, and many of the fans more assiduous of the cómics qualified it of bad film and terrible representation of mythical personages of DC like the Joker. Reinventing the saga of the suicide squad would be a mission for Gunn, since the film that would be commissioned, technically, is not the sequel to the first part. This film still has no premiere date, not even confirmed cast. All that remains is to wait for DC to confirm the role that Gunn will play in the production. [via The Wrap]

Warner Bros. has confirmed to GameSpot that James Gunn will write the screenplay for the next installment of Suicide Squad, but is still in negotiations about whether he will direct the film or not. [via GameSpot]
